How can we measure whether or not life is fair?
How much of our fate is determined by luck?
What control do we have over unfair circumstances?
How can we make life worthwhile even though it seems unfair?

"The Treasure of Lemon Brown" story is talking about his treasure of his harmonica and news paper clippings of him playing 'Blues' music that his son kept with him during war. The "Mother to Son" story is about life not being fair because a quote from the story saying "Life for me ain't been no crystal stair".
